Boycott Shipt and Protest Shipt's Essential Worker Pay Cut!

Happening at Shipt's HQ in Birmingham and Target's HQ in Minneapolis

Shipt is cutting the pay of its essential workers nationwide, right in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic, by forcing its workers to transition to a nontransparent black box pay scale that they did not want. The Shipt List will be protesting and fighting for the rights of all Shipt workers to receive fair and equitable pay. Read more about why we protest and how you can participate, even if you cannot join us!

About The SHIpT List

We are a group of Shipt shoppers uniting together to hold Shipt accountable for unethical labor practices. The Shipt List launched in early 2020 to collectively fight for fair pay and transparency for all Shipt shoppers. When COVID-19 hit, Shipt shoppers became essential frontline workers and began fighting for pandemic-related issues.

Current Issues

Shipt has consistently refused to properly address numerous issues and concerns raised by its personal shoppers. The SHIpT List provides a way for Shipt shoppers to come together to force Shipt to address its labor issues. Issues we have focused on include range from transparent, fair pay, tip mishandling, corporate censorship, and PPE.

For Shipt Members

We highly encourage Shipt members to get involved in our collective fight, to support their local Shoppers, and to help fight Shipt’s unethical labor practices. There are multiple ways for you to get involved in our movement and to fight for the rights of your Shipt shoppers, and all gig workers!

Press Coverage of the SHIpT List Shopper Collective: Stop Unethical Labor Practices Today!

Our Press Coverage

We use in-depth media coverage to connect with Shipt shoppers, members, and our communities. Sustained media coverage and the resulting pressure from numerous local and national press outlets and the communities that we serve have empowered us to force Shipt to address some of our concerns.

Shopper Pay Cuts and Disparities

We have formed a partnership with Coworker.org to collect and analyze shopper pay scale data to better understand Shipt's new nationwide black box algorithm. Algorithmically generated pay is popular among gig companies since pay can be tweaked and lowered at any time without announcement or warning to workers, and we have partnered with data scientists at MIT to find and document clear evidence of inequitable and disproportionate pay cuts.
